Mangochi District Council launches construction of a multi-million-worth EPA facility

Mangochi District Council has officially launched the construction of a K537 million Extension Planning Area (EPA) facility in Senior Chief Lulanga’s area, Mangochi North East.

The project, funded by the Governance to Enable Service Delivery (GESD) initiative, will include an office building, conference room, staff houses, and a demonstration kitchen.

Speaking during the official handover ceremony of the construction site, Chairperson for the District Council, Councillor Abdullah Yusuf expressed excitement, noting that the community had long awaited the facility as they were accessing extension services under trees.

“Farmers will have access to various capacity-building trainings on access to market and modern farming techniques,” he said.

Director of Agriculture, Environmental and Natural Resources, Nditani Maluwa anticipated an enhanced service delivery by Extension workers, saying they will now be operating in a conducive environment.

Senior Chief Lulanga welcomed the development describing it as timely and significant.
