Malawi to hold Mining Investment Forum

The Ministry of Mining says it is set to hold the first edition of the Malawi Mining Investment Forum from 23 to 24 April 2024 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.

Minister of Mining, Monica Chang’anamuno, says the conference, which will attract over 300 participants from around the globe, is part of the ATM strategy promotion week that President Chakwera announced a few weeks ago.

“Government wants to grow the mining sector to contribute at least 20% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the conference will help delegates unlock the enormous greenfield mineral potential that Malawi is endowed with,” said Chang’anamuno.

The forum will be held under the theme ‘Transforming the nation through sustainable minineral extraction’.
