Malawi Assemblies of God University (MAGU) She-Wolves have defended the Mo626 College Basketball trophy.
They came from behind to beat University of Lilongwe (UniLil) 52 – 48 in a highly contested ladies’ final of the 4th edition of the tournament at African Bible College (ABC) in Lilongwe on Saturday.
MAGU She-Wolves will receive K5 million for emerging champions whereas runners-up UniLiL and third-placed Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences will pocket K3 million and K2 million, respectively.
MUBAS defeated Mzuzu University to finish third in the National Bank of Malawi-sponsored tournament, which started in 2017.
Up next is the men’s final between the defending champions MAGU and the hosts ABC.
