The 4th edition of the M0626 College Basketball concludes this afternoon at the Blue Gym at the African Bible College (ABC) in Lilongwe where four teams are set to face off in the finals.
University of Lilongwe (UniLiL) and Malawi Assemblies of God University (MAGU) are fighting for the crown in the women’s category.
To reach the final, UniLiL beat Malawi University of Business and Applied Science (MUBAS) 72 – 36 whereas MAGU beat Mzuzu University (Mzuni) 70-35.
In the men’s category, ABC will play against MAGU. ABC secured the final slot after narrowly beating UniLiL 68-66 while MAGU thumped University of Malawi (UNIMA) 57 – 25.
The semifinals were staged on Friday at the same venue. The tournament is sponsored by the National Bank of Malawi (NBM).
The bank renewed its partnership with the Basketball Association of Malawi with a K450 million three-year sponsorship package for the competition [K150 million each season] from K63 million for the last edition.
