Khumbize hails Lomola Health Post

Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, has described the newly constructed Lomola Health Post in Thyolo District as a vital facility for surrounding communities.

Chiponda said this on Thursday during her visit to the facility.

She highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring rural communities have access to essential health services and emphasised that the facility would reduce the distance residents previously had to travel for medical care.

“This health post is a testament to our ongoing efforts to provide quality healthcare to all Malawians, especially in rural areas,” Chiponda said.

Thyolo District Commissioner, Hudson Kuphanga, added that the post will help decongest larger health facilities while Senior Chief Ndalama expressed gratitude, noting the post’s importance, particularly for pregnant women and children in the area.

The health post, set to open on November 1, is part of 25 health facilities being constructed with support from the Global Fund.
