Increased sex with minors worries Karonga Police

Police in Karonga have raised an alarm over the increase in cases of having sex with minors.

Officer-in-Charge for Karonga Police Station, Kelvin Mulezo, said records reveal that cases are still rising between men aged 30 to 60, despite their efforts in raising awareness and bringing offenders to justice.

Mulezo said they have conducted numerous community meetings and discussed it with media on the subject but the problem doesn’t seem to relent.

He has since appealed for a wider discussion at district level to tackle the growing issue of minors engaging in sexual activities, emphasising the need for collective action to address the vice.
