Let the police do their job — Umodzi Party

Malawians have been asked to avoid interfering with police operations to ensure smooth delivery of justice.

The remarks by Umodzi Party come in the face of arrests involving top Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) officials over various allegations and charges.

Its president, Thomas Kaumba, has told MBC that politicising such matters by claiming that it is ‘political witch-hunt’ is retrogressive and a disrespect to the rule of law.

Kaumba said all along suspects have been arrested relating to the crimes they have committed and nothing else.

“We have seen suspects being arrested others discharged while others convicted. So let everyone prove guilty or not guilty before the courts of law,” Kaumba said.
