As one way of driving towards the attainment of Malawi 2063 agenda in terms of infrastructure development, government continues to construct top notch infrastructure aimed at improving people’s livelihoods.
Earlier today, President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and the First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera visited some multi-billion Kwacha projects, namely Mzimba Stadium and M’mbelwa District Council Offices in Mzimba District.
During the President’s visit, it has been established that the completion of the 20,000 capacity Mzimba Stadium will require K7 billion and is being funded by the Ministry of Local Government.
Upon completion Mzimba Stadium will provide a conducive environment for sporting and recreational activities.
Additionally, the facility will act as a source of revenue for M’mbelwa District Council.
On the newly constructed Council Offices, the proposed budget for its completion is K4 billion.
Upon arrival, the first couple was welcomed by the Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima, former vice president Khumbo Kachali, Minister of Transport and Public Works, Jacob Hara and other dignitaries.
