Flue Cured tobacco hits over four dollars

Tobacco farmers are smiling their way to the bank as Flue Cured leaf at the Kanengo Auction floors is fetching higher prices, with Alliance One offering $4.40 per kilogramme.

The highest offering that had been registered since the market opened on Monday morning was $3.05 cents at the Chinkhoma Auction floors followed by Limbe Auction floors at $3.11.

Tobacco Commission spokesperson Telephorus Chigwenembe hopes growers will continue to earn more as the market is still in its initial stages.
