President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera have led the Christian Community in a solemn Way of the Cross Procession from the City Centre Roundabout to the Botanic Garden in Lilongwe.
The First Couple walked in reverence of this sacred act of devotion.
The procession, which traversed through the heart of the capital city, is a a symbolic journey reflecting the Stations of the Cross in Christianity.
Upon reaching the Botanic Garden, Dr Chakwera and the First Lady joined congregants for an interdenominational service, fostering unity amongst various religious communities in the country.
The service, characterized by hymns, prayers, and scriptural readings, provided an opportunity for spiritual enrichment and communal prayer.
The prayers during the service focused on the importance of unity and faith in overcoming challenges the country is facing. Participants also prayed on the need for compassion, love, and reconciliation in building a better future for all Malawians.
