Duncan Kaonga Trophy returns

The Karonga South Duncan Kaonga Trophy has returned, with a call to instil discipline among the youth.

Over K10 Million has been pumped into this year’s edition.

Kaonga, a business person who is also Vice President of the People’s Party (PP) in the Northern Region made the revelations at Hangalawe Primary School Ground and officially re-launched the trophies.

He said the tournament would keep the youth occupied while bringing positive change to the lives of many in the area.

“I am happy that we are launching Football, Netball, Malipenga, Chipuka and other trophies today,” Kaonga said.

During the launch, Uliwa United FC defeated Hangalawe Select FC 1-0, winning K100,000, football jerseys, and a ball, while Hangalawe Select FC received K50,000, jerseys, and a ball. In netball, Hangalawe United won K50,000, with runners-up Uliwa United receiving K30,000.

Both netball teams received jerseys and a ball.
