DPP EXPELS DAUSI

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has expelled its National Publicity Secretary, Nicholas Harry Dausi from the party with immediate effect.

The party also says by his removal, Dausi ceases to be a Member of Parliament for DPP.

DPP Spokesperson, Shadreck Namalomba, in a statement, says Dausi’s expulsion comes following a recommendation by the party’s disciplinary committee and a decision by the central executive committee.

He says both committees found Dausi guilty of three misconducts contrary to the party’s constitution. In an interview with MBC, Namalomba says Dausi was disrespectful to the party’s leadership by granting interviews to the media and speaking against the DPP leadership.

When contacted, Dausi told MBC that he had not received any communication to that effect, and asked the DPP, to follow procedures in matters of such calibre.

” I stay in Mwanza, they are aware, and they did not bring me the said letter? Please tell them to follow procedures,” said Dausi.

Social commentators observe that since the party lost elections in 2020, it has been intertwined in leadership wrangles, firing its key members willy-nilly and engaged in numerous court battles that it has eventually lost.
