Ministry of Health has reprimanded some health workers who have been demanding fees from patients when accessing free services such as scanning in public hospitals.
Minister responsible, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, said this during the graduation of 897 students from Malawi College of Health Sciences.
Chiponda told the graduands and parents that it is disheartening that some health workers at Bwaila Hospital in Lilongwe have been charging patients some money in order to be assisted.
The minister warned those found guilty will not be spared. She said being a health worker is calling and requires to work with a selfless heart.
