Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa of the Archdiocese of Blantyre has urged parishioners to become self-reliant in matters of economic development.
Archbishop Msusa was speaking in Blantyre on Sunday during the unveiling of St. Paul’s Catholic-Mdala as a new parish.
Thousands of Roman Catholic faithfuls are attending the ceremony.
The Church, which was under Lunzu Parish, will now make 46 Parishes in the Archdiocese of Blantyre.
