BUSHIRI TO COMPLEMENT GOVT’S FOOD DISTRIBUTION EFFORT

                                                                Bushiri at Goshen farms warehouses

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of ECG Jesus Nation Church plans to support the government’s efforts in reaching out to the hunger-stricken by distributing food to over 1 million individuals across the country.

Making the announcement at Goshen farms warehouses, Bushiri said through the initiative, he will distribute 17,000 metric tonnes of maize worth K14 billion.

The initiative will be implemented hand in hand with district councils and traditional leaders in selected communities, especially those that were affected by Cyclone Freddy and dry spell.

He thanked President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and his administration for the efforts aimed at ensuring that people are food secure.

“I believe we can all hold hands at this time to assist the vulnerable. I do know as business minded people we have to make profits, however, we can share the little we have. I had all the liberty to sell this maize and make a lot of money, but, I feel it is not time to prioritize our business interests over starving Malawians. Therefore, let everyone with anything little, help!” said Bushiri.

His consignment will include maize, rice and cash handouts.
