Malawi Adventist Ladies In Faith (MALIF) has urged women to emulate the work of Dorcas in the Bible by empowering themselves in faith and other skills that can help to reach out to others to improve lives of people in the country.
Chairperson of MALIF, Akonda Supuni Yakobe, made the remarks during an international retreat currently underway in Salima District, where women are sharing knowledge on how to become successful entrepreneurs. The retreat has drawn participants from various districts across Malawi, as well as delegates from South Africa and the United States.
Guest speaker at the event, Chimwemwe Hiwa Guluka, pointed out the need to empower women and have mindset change in local churches to treat women as game changers who are essential in caring for the need.
Chairlady for the United States of America’s MALIF, Aisha Mtinkhulu, said women are ready to support communities, regardless of their faith.
The women donated assorted items at Sengabay SDA church and reached out to the community.
