Balaka Police confiscating dangerous alcohol

Balaka Police Station is confiscating dangerous alcoholic beverages in an effort to eliminate deaths related to such.

This follows developments in Blantyre where eight people recently died after allegedly consuming a deadly alcoholic drink branded ‘Ambuye Tengeni’ as reported by the district’s Health Office.

Dan Sauteni, Officer-in-charge at Balaka Police convened a meeting with heads of branches, commanding his officers to confiscate all suspicious beverages.

Police in the South West Region also recently announced that they are hunting for more suspects behind the selling of the alcohol that led to the death of the eight.
