UNDP launches electric vehicle

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has launched an electric vehicle, as part of its green transformation agenda.

This comes as the organisation is targeting to increase its usage of electric vehicles by 75 percent in the next five years.

UNDP Resident Representative, Fenella Frost, has since called upon all stakeholders to transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy solutions.

Whilst commending UNDP for the initiative, Minister of Energy, Ibrahim Matola has described electric vehicles as crucial towards Malawi’s economic transformation.

He said the vehicles will go along way in reducing the country’s import bill.
