Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services has finished maintenance works of the passport issuance system at its headquarters in Blantyre, the department’s Spokesperson, Wellington Chiponde has confirmed.
Chiponde said processing of the travelling document is happening in a steady and improved manner.
He said the department embarked on system maintenance works last Friday following a technical fault.
“The development means that passport seekers can now come and process their passport application without facing hurdles,” Chiponde said.
A local ICT firm E-Tech Systems is offering passport issuance services temporarily.
