Tour de Dwangwa returns

Roundtable Dwangwa 69 has announced that the much-anticipated Tour de Dwangwa will be held on November 17, 2024.

According to the chairperson of the organising team, Dyson Mpeketula, Illovo Sugar Malawi has raised the event’s sponsorship from last year’s K15 million to K25 million this year.

Mpeketula revealed that the top cyclist in the professional category will receive a prize of K500,000 while the second and third-place finishers will earn K250,000 and K150,000, respectively.

The competition will feature three categories: the professional race covering a 50-kilometre stretch from Kande in Nkhata Bay to Dwangwa in Nkhotakota, a race for Kabaza and a local cyclists’ category.
