Police at Namwera in Mangochi have arrested three Mozambicans for being found with five pieces of ivory weighing 12 Kilogrammes.
Mangochi Police’s publicist, Amina Tepani Daudi, has identified them as Shoriano Juwao Bizwick, 31, Nelson Bala, 36 and Ziti Rajabu, 34, all from Nyerere Village, Mandimba District in Mozambique.
Daudi says Police followed a tip leading to the arrests at Namwera Trading Centre.
They will all appear in court to answer charges if illegal possession of specimen of listed species without a license.
