Tabitha Wins UNFP Trophy for Best Player of the Season

Tabitha Chawinga has been awarded the UNFP Trophy for Best Player of the Season in France, marking a significant milestone in her career.

The accolade comes just weeks after Chawinga was named the D1 Arkema Player of the Season. Additionally, she secured a spot in the Team of the Season during her debut campaign on loan to Paris Sainy Germain.

National Women’s Football Committee Chairperson Adelaide Migogo has said the award signifies the growth of women’s football in the country.

At the 32nd edition of the UNFP awards ceremony, which took place in Paris on Monday night, PSG took home a total of 15 awards.

Having already done so in 2021 and 2022, the team also pulled off another Player of the Season double, with Kylian Mbappé winning the award on the men’s side and Chawinga winning it on the women’s side.
