The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has acknowledged resistance to its e-ticketing initiative during the first round of the TNM Super League.
Despite this, SULOM has reported substantial financial success, with total gross gate revenue nearing K700 million.
The e-ticketing system, introduced in collaboration with the sponsor TNM, was implemented at some venues during the league’s first half.
SULOM Vice General Secretary, Donnex Chilonga, said that discussions with TNM are planned to address the challenges and determine the future of the innovation.
Meanwhile, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Albert Chigoga, whose club was the top revenue earner, said that their significant earnings came largely from pre-sales rather than e-ticketing.
