Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) says the China South-South Cooperation (SSC) project is essential in boosting agricultural exports through the introduction of advanced agricultural practices which could boost Malawi’s economy.
FAO country representative, Zhijun Chen, made the remarks during the inception meeting for the SSC project in Lilongwe.
FAO in conjunction with China implemented the SSC project to foster modern ways of farming in various agricultural sectors through the introduction of new varieties, advanced knowledge, skills and technologies.
Chen said the project will enhance the production of export-quality horticulture products and livestock.
