Senior Chief Kuntaja of Blantyre has praised President Dr Lazarus Chakwera for his effective and decisive leadership which he said has seen the mushrooming of a myriad of infrastructure development projects in most areas under his jurisdiction.
Speaking at Chigumukire Primary School Ground in Chileka, Blantyre on the sidelines of International Human Rights Day Commemorations, Senior Chief Kuntaja started showering praises on President Chakwera for supporting victims of both Cyclone Freddy and also Cholera outbreak in Blantyre and also other districts in the Southern Region.
The traditional leader also extended his gratitude to President Chakwera for ensuring that the Affordable Input Program (AIP) reaches out to many of his subjects.

He said the fertiliser distribution process has been seamless in his area.
On road infrastructure, Senior Chief Kuntaja thanked Dr Chakwera for embarking on various road projects in the city of Blantyre which he said are taking positive shape.
“Each time I pass by the new Blantyre Police Station on my way to meet the DC (District Commissioner), I look at this project with keen interest because that’s where the original police station was constructed during the Kamuzu era. I thank you for this project because it is in my area and will help enhance securing apart from beautifying the city,” added the chief.
According to Senior Chief Kuntaja, President Chakwera should also be commended for restoring international relationships between Malawi and neighbouring countries such as Tanzania and Mozambique.
