Police in Rumphi have arrested MacDonald Munthali, 28, for allegedly murdering Yolamu Phiri on September 21, 2023.
Rumphi Police’s Deputy publicist, Edith Mithi, says Phiri was working as a guard at St. Thomas Anglican Church and his body was found lying in a pool of blood in the Church by Church members who had gone for preparations of a prayer Service.
Mithi states that Munthali will soon appear before the court to answer charges of murder, burglary and theft.
The suspect hails from Zamamba Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kameme in Chitipa District.
