President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has described the CCAP church as a partner in developing Malawi since it has been a pillar in improving lives through various sectors.
Dr Chakwera said this on Sunday during the CCAP General Assembly Centenary Celebration at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
The President commended the church for promoting good governance in the country and providing counsel to the government.
He also praised the church for its faithfulness to the Lord over the past 100 years.
Moderator of the CCAP General Assembly, Reverend Biswick Nkhoma, sad during the 100 years, the church has been a beacon of hope regardless of the many challenges, and has contributed highly to the improvement of people’s livelihoods.
The celebrations were attended by the Vice President of Zimbabwe, Kembo Mohadi along with representatives from all Synods of Nkhoma, Blantyre, Livingstonia, Harare, and Zambia.
The event was held under the theme: “The Lord Has Done Great Things for Us,” based on Psalm 126:3.
