President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and other Heads of State are set to attend a high level Presidential summit in Kenya on Thursday which aims to underscore the importance of fertilizer and soil health in fostering sustainable growth in African agriculture, particularly for the benefit of rural communities.
The Malawi leader has already arrived in Kenya for the African Fertilizer and Soil Health Conference and was welcomed by Malawi’s High Commissioner to Kenya, Callista Mutharika, Rebecca Miano who is Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry in Kenya and other Kenyan government officials.
The summit is under the theme “Listen to the Land” and its goal is to reach a consensus on an African Fertilizer and Soil Health Action Plan for the next 10 years to empower farmers to rejuvenate soil health and enhance fertilizer effectiveness for increased yields and profitability.
