Police, Mzuzu residents strengthen ties through community hike

In a bid to foster relations between police officers and Mzuzu residents, Northern Region Police Headquarters joined forces with the Mzuzu Health Club and other citizens for a four-hour hike at Kaning’ina Mountain in Mzuzu City on Saturday.

Commissioner of Police for the Northern Region, Richard Luhanga, said the event was not just about enjoying the outdoors.

“We wanted to break barriers and show the community that the police are here for them, not just in times of need. Hiking together is a great way to have casual conversations and build trust,” Luhanga stressed.

Peter Mumba, Mzuzu Health Club’s Secretary, said the event gave them a chance to promote unity.

One of the citizens, Allen Kumwenda, also expressed delight over the activity.
