Hip-hop artist Phyzix says he has finally dismissed those that labelled his music as “bubblegum” after receiving K5 million in royalties from the Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA).
“Numbers indicate that I am the most listened to hip-hop artist in Malawi,” said Phyzix.
His cash prize coincides with the release of his latest single, “Kaliya,” featuring up and coming artists, Loiso and Kedarah.
The “Cholapitsa” hitmaker emphasised that his music captivates audiences while also generating revenue, which helps to support and expand his brand.
Phyzix’s Road Manager, Allan Maunde, said the COSOMA royalties show Phyzix produces hip-hop with real substance.
Last year, Phyzix collected K1.5 million in royalties and the year prior he pocketed K3 million.
