Paramount Chief Gomani V of Ntcheu has called on the Maseko Ngoni to maintain peaceful coexistence with other tribes in Malawi to promote unity and harmony.
The Ngoni leader made the remarks at his headquarters in Ntcheu during Umbizo, the annual cultural gathering to thank God for the New Year.
‘’Umbizo is very important, you see when you talk of culture , culture provide moral campus as it shows people oneness and united. We invited different the Maseko Ngoni and other tribes to understand and appreciates our culture as we praise God for the new year,’’ He said
Prophet Shepherd Bushiri founder of the Enlighten Gathering Church, highlighted the importance of the cooperation between religion and culture
“It’s important to see traditional and religious leaders coming together to praise God,’’ said Bushiri.
Representing the Nkhoma Synod, Reverend Nehemia Kazanthu of Mlanda CCAP Presbytery commended the Maseko
Ngoni for their dedication to giving thanks to God for the gift of life through the Umbizo celebration.
As part of the event, the Maseko Ngoni laid wreaths at the graves of the second, third, and fourth Maseko Ngoni paramount chiefs. Prophet Bushiri also donated K15 million to support the Maseko Ngoni Cultural Heritage.
