NLGFC Board impressed by quality of projects in Rumphi

National Local Government Finance Committee (NLGFC) Board Chairperson, Richard Chapweteka, says he is impressed with the quality of developmental structures under construction in Mzimba District.

Chapweteka expressed his satisfaction on Monday after inspecting an IFMIS block under construction at the council. The project is part of several development initiatives under the District Development Fund (DDF), the Climate Smart Enhanced Public Works Programme, Governance to Enable Service Delivery (GESD), and the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), among others.

“I will not hide my excitement. We have had challenges in the utilisation of funds, especially concerning the quality of structures. Having visited this IFMIS office complex, you can tell from the quality that they have engaged a proper contractor. This is outstanding. I am so impressed,” he said.

The NLGFC is mandated by an Act of Parliament to disburse and manage operational and development resources for local councils in Malawi.
