Lilongwe Police have arrested Thomson Mapondo, 18, on allegations that he stabbed to death Madalitso Manyungwa, 23, over payment disagreements for services the latter offered as a braai master during a party at Chinsapo 2, on Sunday.
Lilongwe Police’s publicist, Hastings Chigalu, says disagreements erupted when Manyungwa (deceased) asked for his payment after offering the braai services as agreed.
When disagreements erupted, the suspect took a broken glass bottle and stabbed Manyungwa on the lateral side of the neck and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Likuni Mission Hospital.
Chigalu says post-mortem done by Kamuzu Central Hospital medical personnel reveals it was due to “Cardiovascular collapse as a result of severe haemorrhage shock from Carotid Artery”.
Both the suspect and the deceased hail from Chinsapo 2 Village, Traditional Authority Malili in Lilongwe District.
