NAVICHA DECLINES CHANCE TO RESPOND TO THE SONA

DPP Leader in Parliament Mary Navicha has turned down the opportunity to respond to the State of Nation Address.

Navicha told the House that DPP’s response was made outside Parliament through the media during the time they were denied entry into Parliament premises after the Speaker evoked standing order 105.

Navicha has since resumed her seat and currently, other legislators are making their contributions to the SONA.

Speaker of Parliament, Catherine Gotani Hara, announced that the Thyolo Thava parliamentarian would respond to the SONA as leader of DPP today after chaos broke out in the house when DPP members were against the decision that Mulanje Central Parliamentarian, Kondwani Nankhumwa, should respond as Leader of Opposition.
