One of the country’s celebrated artists, Patience Namadingo, says he is not going to perform at the Umodzi Music Concert slated for 17 November this year in Lilongwe.
The “Mapulani” hitmaker has told MBC Digital that the organisers of the show have failed to fulfill a contractual agreement of K10 million performance fee as they only paid K6 million but went ahead to announce that the musician will be at the event.
He added that the show organizers are not showing interest to ‘rectify the anomaly’ hence his decision to pull out of the planned show.
However, Simeon Zimba, Marketing Executive for Nyasa Job Agency, organizers of the show, said there was miscommunication between the two sides and that they are currently seeking to reach a common ground on the issue.
Zimba then went on to add that besides Namadingo, there are other artists who will equally headline the show such as Keturah as well as Lulu and Mathumela Band.
