Mzuzu City Hammers unveil new sponsors

Mzuzu City Hammers (formerly Ekwendeni Hammers) have signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Betika Malawi Limited as their new sponsors.

The sponsorship will see the company pumping in K30 million every season, jerseys, football equipment and will be paying K200,000 to the team’s player of the month.

Country Manager for Betika, Gift Govati, says the company has decided to support Mzuzu City Hammers considering the challenges the team is facing.

“…as a company, we are optimistic that the support will help to promote football in the country,” Govati said.

Chairperson for Mzuzu City Hammers, Gift Mkandawire, hailed Betika for the sponsorship.

During the unveiling of the sponsorship, Super League of Malawi president, Gilbert Mitawa, bought the replica jersey at K500,000 and the team collected about K2 million from the sale of replica jerseys.

From the agreement, Mzuzu City Hammers will use purple jerseys when playing at home and white jerseys will be used during away fixtures.
