Maranatha opens boys campus in Mponela

One of the country’s private schools, Maranatha Academy, has opened its boys’ campus in Mponela, Dowa.

Maranatha Academy’s Managing Director, Ernest Kaonga, said they decided to open the institution’s doors in Dowa following public demand for a Maranatha Boys Campus in the Central Region.

Kaonga said Dowa is centrally located for the convenience of parents and guardians.

“The good news is that Maranatha Academy is bringing Maranatha Boys to the Central Region. As you know, we have been operating in Blantyre for the past 20 years,” said Kaonga.

He further explained that the delay in opening the boys’ campus in the Central Region was due to the search for a suitable location, which they have now found.

“The campus is housed in a building that used to be Mbolembole Hotel,” he said.

Some parents have already commended Maranatha for opening its campus in the Central Region, noting that sending their children to Blantyre was costly.

“After dropping the students, picking them up when school closes was not an easy task,” said one of the parents.

So far, Maranatha has four campuses: two in Blantyre and two in the Central Region, with the Lilongwe Campus situated at Six Miles.
