Kasungu First Grade Magistrate Court has jailed 21 year old Tamandani Phiri for 14 years with hard labour for defiling a two year old child.
The convict committed the offence on 14 October this year at a house where he was staying with his friend.
Prosecutor Bonex Banda told the court that Phiri invited the girl into the house and forced himself on her, taking advantage of the absence of his friend.
Banda said while Phiri was in the act, his friend found him defiling the child and reported the matter to police, leading to his arrest.
Appearing in court, Phiri pleaded guilty to the charge, prompting Magistrate Chakaka Nyirenda, to slap him with 14 years imprisonment with hard labour.
He hails from Makolowondo village, Traditional Authority Lukwa, in Kasungu District.
