National Advocacy Platform (NAP) has welcomed the resumption of direct budget support from the African Development Bank (AfDB), citing it as a significant step towards the country’s prosperity.
In a press statement signed by NAP chairperson Benedicto Kondowe, the grouping says the $23 million injection signifies a strong vote of confidence in the government’s commitment to reform and its efforts to foster a conducive environment for growth and stability.
The move by AfDB on the back of signals from other international donors, including a $175 million Extended Credit Facility (ECF) grant from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
NAP is an umbrella body of 250 non-governmental organisations.
