Malawi falls to Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in World Cup qualifier game

The Malawi National Football Team have lost 1-0 to Equatorial Guinea in Group H of the World Cup qualifiers at Estadio de Malabo.

The Flames remain in 4th place with 6 points from 4 games while Equatorial Guinea secured their first 3 points in the group, staying in 5th place.

Iban Salvador scored the decisive goal for the home team in the 80th minute.

Flames coach Patrick Mabedi made two changes to the starting eleven that defeated Sao Tome on Thursday, replacing Chifundo Mphasi and Robert Saizi with Patrick Mwaungulu and Henri Kumwenda.

Tunisia leads the group with 10 points, followed by Namibia with 8 points, Liberia in third with 7 points, and Sao Tome remains winless.
