MALAWI EARNS $65,000 FROM BELL PEPPER EXPORTS TO SOUTH AFRICA

Malawi’s Greenbelt Greenhouse Limited has exported bell peppers to South Africa, generating $65,000 (approximately K109 million) in revenue.

Greenbelt Greenhouse Limited has a 49% share in a joint venture with the Malawi Government and the Inosselia Commercial Limited owns 51%.

Over the past four months, the company has exported 70 tonnes of bell peppers.

In addition to bell peppers, Greenbelt Greenhouse Limited cultivates and exports a variety of high-quality produce including tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, watermelons, chilies, broccoli, and cornflour.
