Mafco Football Club has condemned the actions of its players Vitumbiko Phiri, Duncan Mwale, and Blessings Chandiyang’ana for their violent behavior during Sunday’s Super League loss to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium.
The players were caught on camera forcefully stamping on Bullets’ forward Wongani Lungu, who was lying on the ground in the final minutes of the match.
In a statement released by the club on Monday, the club denounced the actions as unacceptable, emphasising that such behaviour does not align with the club’s values of respect and fair play.
The statement further states that the club will take full responsibility for the players’ conduct and will summon them for disciplinary action.
The Super League of Malawi said it’s awaiting the official referee reports before deciding on further action.
