Local chiefs in Dedza speak highly of NEEF loans

Traditional leaders in Dedza District have hailed the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) for changing the economic status of people in the district.

Traditional Authority Chilikumwendo said those that received the loans are paying back though a few others are defaulting.

Senior Chief Kachindamoto said the loan is changing the livelihood of people since they are now able to boost their businesses.

Hungry Lions Business Group Chairperson, Francis Sayidiwezi, echoed Kachindamoto’s sentiments.

“First, we got K400,000 in 2021 and managed to pay it back. Then, we received K1 million and we did the same, offsetting the loan. Now, we have received K3 million, which we are working with as a group of seven members,” he explained.
