Last minute voter registration grips Mzimba

Voter Registration centres in Mzimba South have recorded a surge in registrants just a day before closure of the exercise.

The centres include Davie Primary School, Tovwirane Registration Centre and St. Paul’s Primary School.

Supervisor for the Local Education Authority (LEA) registration centre in Mzimba South, Eston Nyirenda, confirmed that they have witnessed a drastic change.

“On the first day of the registration , about 70 people registered, but the number dropped to 38 a few days later. However, we have seen an increase in turnout recently, with 107 people registering yesterday (Monday). We are hopeful that more people will register before the deadline,” he said.

The voter registration exercise, which began on November 28, will end on December 11, 2024.
