KATINJI RETURNS TO SILVER STRIKERS

Striker Binwell Katinji has sealed a 2-year deal with Silver Strikers FC, curtailing his union with city rivals Civil Service United.

Katinji last played for the central bankers between 2016 and 2018.

Katinji is brimming with confidence after netting 11 goals, just five shy of the 2023 TNM Super League’s top scorer, Clement Nyondo.

“I’m thrilled to be back at Silver Strikers; I feel I have unfinished business to fulfill,” Katinji expressed.

Silver have also secured the services of George Chikooka, who was Chitipa United’s Goalkeeper, on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

Chikooka, a contender for last season’s Golden Glove with 13 clean sheets, just one behind Innocent Nyasulu of Mighty Tigers, shared his excitement about joining Silver Strikers, citing it as a dream move.

Chikooka, Katinji and Patrick Chimimba (Silver Strikers CEO) signing contracts.

This means that Silver Strikers, under the guidance of new Coach Peter Mponda, have signed a total of five new players, having already signed Christopher Gototo, McDonald Lameck, and Charles Chipala.

The 2024 football season is set to kick off in April 2024.
