The Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) has urged journalists to help raise public awareness about the newly enacted competition and fair trading law.
The plea has been made by CFTC’s Executive Director Lloyds Nkhoma in Blantyre during an interface with southern region based journalists drawn from different media houses.
According to Nkhoma the new law is giving more powers to CFTC.
“We can now impose a monetary penalty as percentage turnover of up to 10 percent and 5 percent for enterprises and individuals respectively,” said Nkhoma.
