Journalists march for sustainable environmental management

Journalists, led by the Association of Environmental Journalists, marched through Lilongwe to advocate for sustainable environmental management and oppose the use of thin plastics.

The procession began at Lilongwe Community Centre Ground, with the Malawi Police Brass Band leading the way. The march was supported by the Lilongwe Wildlife Trust and several NGOs, and concluded with a rally at the Game Stores Complex.

Newly elected President of the Association of Environmental Journalists, Titus Linzi, expressed gratitude for the strong turnout and commended the community’s support for the cause. He noted that the demonstration underscores the critical role of the media in raising awareness and promoting environmental sustainability.
