ICT key to Malawi 2063 — Kunkuyu

Minister of Information Moses Kunkuyu has stressed the importance of equipping youths with digital skills to achieve the Malawi 2063.

Kunkuyu said this on Friday in Lilongwe at the 2024 Leadership Employability Advancement Possibility (LEAP) programme, where five Malawian students from public universities will participate in a digital talent study camp in China.

“The digital revolution is global and tapping from what is happening elsewhere and marrying what we have locally is key,” he noted.

Enterprise Director for Huawei Technologies in Malawi Lijunzhang, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Malawi’s digital future.

He said through the programme, students will receive training in new technologies like 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing and Digital Power.

250 Malawian students have benefited from the LEAP programme since 2016.
