Minister of Youth and Sports, Uchizi Mkandawire has said digital technology is important in enhancing youth engagement in the country.
He made the remarks at the International Youth Day commemoration held at Mgodi Primary School in Machinga.
Mkandawire pointed out that this year’s theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Achieving Malawi 2063,” aligns with the government’s commitment to youth development through digital initiatives.
“By embracing digital technology, the government aims to create opportunities for youth to drive positive change and contribute to the country’s sustainable development,” said Mkandawire.
Rex Chapota, Executive Director of the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM), urged the need to expand access to digital technology for youth in remote areas.
