Authorities at Dzaleka Health Centre have appealed to well wishers to assist the facility as it it is facing some resource constraints.
Clinical Officer-in-Charge, Henry Lali, made the remarks when ‘There is Hope’ (TIH), a non-profit organisation, donated assorted supplies worth K162 million at the health facility, with support from Health Partners of Canada (HPIC).
“The management is facing several challenges, including shortage of drugs as the Health Centre has a big catchment area since it also serves the surrounding communities around the camp,” said Lali.
Hilda Kausiwa, Senior Administration and Operations Manager at the Department of Refugees, hailed the donation, saying the demand for medical supplies at the facility is very high due to the growing population of those seeking the health services.
There is Hope (TIH) is a Malawian Non-Governmental Organization that provides opportunities for education, business and leadership development to people living in and around Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Dowa District.
